The Chevrolet Camaro might be known as the classic pony-car of the sixties, but the fifth generation of the series looks like the most exciting scion of the line. The fourth generation Camaro's production stopped in 2002, so car enthusiasts eagerly awaited the next surprise prepared by Chevy.

The 2010 Camaro will be made available as a coupe in five different trim levels; the LS, 1LT, 2LT, 1SS, and 2SS. The LS and LT trim levels are powered by the 3.6 L GM LLT V6 producing 304 hp at 6400 rpm and 273 ft•lbf at 5200 rpm. The SS with manual transmission is powered by the 6.2 L GM LS3 V8 producing 426 hp at 5900 rpm and 420 ft•lbf at 4600 rpm while the SS with automatic transmission is powered by a new variant of the LS3 called the GM L99 which produces 400 hp at 5900 rpm and 410 ft•lbf at 4300 rpm. The SS with its 426 horsepower engine can go from 0 to 60 mph in just 4,6 seconds. Not bad at all!

The fifth generation Camaro is modeled after the 1960's version. It looks like a retro car, but there's nothing retro about its performance. The car's interior is a bit disappointing in comparison with its stunning body. Too much black plastic and blue LED lights might have looked cool in 1960’s, but they are a bit out of place in the 21th century.

For example, the price for the V6 model developing 304 horsepower is around $30.000, not a big price for what the car has to offer.
But Chevrolet doesn’t stop at this. In 2009, the car manufacturer unveiled several new concept models of the Camaro at the SEMA show.
