Lamborghini Reventon

Lamborghini Reventon

The 2009 Frankfurt Motor Show has shown some every promising new supercars to be released in 2010. One of the most interesting newcomers is the Lamborghini Reventon, the, a car shaped missile more than anything else. At the first sight, the Reventon seems too good to be true. It took Lamborghini two years to release an open air follow up to the Reventon coupe, but it was definitely worth the wait.

Named after a fighting bull in the old Lamborghini tradition, the Reventon shocks with its sinisterly shaped carbon fibre body, inspired by a jet plane. The Reventon's engine was a slightly tuned version of the Murciélago LP640's 6.5 L V-12, rated at 640 hp (480 kW). The Reventon will probably be the fastest Lamborghini to date, jumping to 60 mph in little over three seconds, and capable of attaining speeds of over 220 mph.

The Reventon’s body is fashioned from carbon-fibre and all of the cars will have the same colour, an opaque grey. Not that is would make sense painting it in every colour of the rainbow, seeing as Lamborghini plans to manufacture only twenty Reventons.

The car’s interior seems to be just as interesting as its body. The instruments will be framed by a solid aluminum block with carbon fiber casing. In addition to what you can find in any supercar cockpit, the Reventon will be equipped with a G-Force-Meter that will display the dynamic longitudinal drive forces of longitudinal acceleration, during acceleration and braking, and transverse acceleration around bends.

The price tag of the Lamborghini Reventon will exceed one million euros. Couple that with that very limited number in the series, and you’ve got yourself a very exclusive supercar that you can only dream of.
